Beginning on January 25, 2011, thousands of Egyptian protesters, inspired in part by the recent Jasmine revolution in Tunisia, took to the streets in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and across the country to protest high unemployment, government corruption, and high food prices. The crisis that has ensued is an unprecedented threat to the Egyptian government, and shows no signs of abating.
