The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is an international, graduate-level research university dedicated to inspiring a new age of scientific achievement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Located about 80 kilometers north of Jeddah in the Red Sea village of Thuwal, the university has been able to attract many of the top scientists and students from around the world. They will use the university as a living laboratory, demonstrating that environmentally responsible methods of energy use, materials management, and water consumption are viable in the Middle East and across the globe.
