Local Afghans gather around a U.S. Army Apache helicopter during the July 7, 2002 visit by U.S. Army Gen. Dan McNeill, commander of the Coalition Joint Task Force (CJTF 180), to Deh Rawud in Southern Afghanistan. McNeill used the visit to speak with local leaders about the possibility of stationing more U.S. troops in the region, following an incident last week in which U.S. aircraft mistakenly targeted Afghan civilians celebrating in the village.
