Hamas policemen stand with their own and their brides' younger sisters and cousins during a mass wedding for 55 policemen sponsored by the Hamas party in the Jabaliya camp in Gaza, Palestinian Territories on August 2, 2007. Each groom was given $500 (U.S. dollars) from Hamas and $100 from Ismail Haniya as well as the free public wedding party. Hamas cements much of its' popularity by sponsoring community events such as this as well as providing free summer camps for kids, organizing trash pickups and food distributions across Gaza.
