Incense sticks burn near a shrine within the the Temple of the Tooth (Dalada Maligawa) in Kandy, Sri Lanka August 12, 2008. The temple, which houses what is purported to be the tooth of Buddha, is a place of pilgrimage for Sri Lankan Buddhists and is considered by many to be the treasury of the island's entire culture.
