Iraqi Shia Muslim boys self flagellate outside the Khadimiya shrine September 22, 2003 in Baghdad, Iraq to mark the anniversary of the death of the Imam Moussa Kadhim. Khadim, a revered Shiite imam was poisoned some 900 years ago, and to this day Shia Muslims mark the date of his death with marches, self flagellation, prayers, and acts of charity for the poor.
