Cairo Unrest Threatens end of Mubarak Regime

Protesters shield themselves behind and atop an Egyptian Military armored personnel carrier that moved in to support them during a street battle with riot police near the interior ministry in downtown Cairo January 29, 2011. Although refusing to use their weapons against the police, the Egyptian soldiers in the carriers appeared sympathetic to the protesters, moving the vehicles into positions to provide cover from the police who were firing buck shot shells and tear gas at the large crowd.
