Iraqi Shia girls pin up a poster of the Imam Abbas near the Khadimiya shrine September 22, 2003 in Baghdad, Iraq on the anniversary of the death of the Imam Moussa Kadhim. Khadim, a revered Shiite imam was poisoned some 900 years ago, and to this day Shia Muslims mark the date of his death with marches, self flagellation, prayers, and acts of charity for the poor. Shia Muslims in Iraq were forbidden from hanging such posters during the years that Saddam Hussein was in power there.
