Egyptian Rockslide Buries Shantytown

Egyptian bystanders and residents of the Manshiyet Nasr slums watch as rescue operations take place Saturday, September 6, 2008 to reach hundreds of people believed buried under the more than 70 tons of giant limestone slabs that fell on the Cairo shantytown earlier that morning. So far, authorities have recovered 64 bodies, but have struggled to get in heavy equipment that might be used to retrieve more bodies or search for survivors.
