A Palestinian family tries to salvage what they can of their belongings from the pile of rubble that is their recently destroyed home January 18, 2009 in the Al-Arayis district of Gaza City.The family returned to the the site of their home after 21 days of an Israeli assault on Gaza that destroyed thousands of homes, killed more than 1200 Palestinians, and has left an unknown number of people homeless.
