Egyptian Rockslide Buries Shantytown
Egyptian residents of the Manshiyet Nasr slums sit atop the rocks that buried hundreds Saturday, September 6, 2008 under a giant rockslide that fell on the Cairo shantytown earlier that morning. So far 64 bodies have been recovered, but authorities have struggled to get in heavy equipment that might be used to retrieve more bodies or search for survivors, and residents of the area have grown increasingly angry with what they say is the Egyptian government's inability to respond to the disaster.
