Al Bashrah Oil Terminal (ABOT), Arabian gulf

UK Royal Marines from the frigate HMS Monmouth take part in a training exercise to simulate the boarding of a potentially hostile ship February 03, 2010 during their current mission patrolling a nautical exclusion zone protecting the Al Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT) 50 kilometers off the Iraqi coast in the Northern Arabian Gulf. The Monmouth, nicknamed the "Black Duke", is part of the US and UK Combined Joint Task force Iraq Maritime which currently provides security for ABOT due to the extreme importance of the terminal to Iraqs oil infrastructure and economy.
