Egyptian Rockslide Buries Shantytown
Egyptian residents of the Manshiyet Nasr slums desperately dig by hand searching for the estimated hundreds of family members buried Saturday, September 6, 2008 under a giant rockslide that fell on the Cairo shantytown earlier that morning. So far 32 bodies have been recovered, but authorities have struggled to get in heavy equipment that might be used to retrieve more bodies or search for survivors, and residents of the area have grown increasingly angry with what they say is the Egyptian government's inability to respond to the disaster.
