A Shiite pilgrims stroll around the outside of the illuminated Imam Ali Shrine September 20, 2007 in the holy Shiite city of an-Najaf in Southern Iraq. The revered shrine, the 3rd holiest site in Shiite Islam, has attracted millions of pilgrims annually to the city for centuries and is currently undergoing a ten year renovation and expansion effort that will see it grow by 3 times its current size.
