U.S. Army General Dan McNeill, Coalition Joint Task Force 180 commander, arrives under guard for a July 7, 2002 visit with the Governor of the Oruzgan province, Jan Mohammed Khan, at Tarin Kowt in Southern Afghanistan. McNeill used the visit to speak with Khan about the possibility of stationing more U.S. troops in the region, following an incident last week in which U.S. aircraft mistakenly targeted Afghan civilians celebrating in the nearby village of Deh Rawud.
