Anti-gang activist Orlando "King" Hamilton discusses conflict resolution techniques with teens at a Kingston area High School December 10, 2008. Figures like Hamilton, a former gang member himself, are perhaps the key to reaching out to area gangs and teens who are either perpetrating the high levels of violence or at risk of falling victim to it. Hamilton frequently visits with local teens to warn them of the dangers, encourage non-violent conflict resolution techniques and to engage local community leaders in an effort to stem the tide of rising violence.
