US Navy security personnel move about the Al Basrah oil terminal (ABOT) 50 kilometers off the coast of Iraq in the Northern Arabian Gulf February 2, 2010. Currently the Coalition Task Force Iraq Maritime comprised of US and UK sailors and marines are responsible for the defense of this vital Iraqi infrastructure asset. By 2011 however, all coalition forces are planning to withdrawal from Iraq, so the task force is now training and supporting Iraqi Naval and security forces to eventualluy assume the role of protecting the platform themselves.
