Cairo Unrest Threatens end of Mubarak Regime

An Egyptian soldier stands atop his armored personnel carrier as it is moved into position to help protect protesters who are being shot at by nearby riot police during a street battle near the interior ministry in downtown Cairo January 29, 2011. Although refusing to use their weapons against the police, the Egyptian soldiers in the carriers appeared sympathetic to the protesters, moving the vehicles into positions to provide cover from the police who were firing buck shot shells and tear gas at the large crowd.
