Al Bashrah Oil Terminal (ABOT), Arabian gulf

US Navy Destroyer USS Hopper patrols inside a nautical exclusion zone around the Al Basrah Oil terminal (ABOT, seen on the horizon) February 4, 2010 50 kilometers off the coast of Iraq in the Northern Arabian Gulf. ABOT is currently protected by US and UK sailors and Marines from several warships assigned to Combined Joint Task Force Iraq Maritime in a mission that also emphasizes working with Iraqi forces to develop their capability to soon secure the terminal themselves.
