Residents of Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip return to their homes for the first time since they fled during the 21 day Israeli operation against HAMAS inside Gaza January 19, 2009. Many residents returned to find destroyed or severely damaged homes from the fighting. According to the United Nations and Palestinian officials, more than 4,000 homes were destroyed during the Israeli operation.
