HAMAS border police undergo basic training December 21, 2009 at the City of Arafat Police headquarters in Gaza City, Gaza. The HAMAS police force was one of the main targets of the 22 day Israeli offensive a year ago and lost more than 150 members on the first day of strikes alone. The past year has seen HAMAS slowly rebuild its capacity, although the organization is careful not to congregate in large groups and only trains now in small numbers to avoid being an easy target again.
