Palestinian Majid Asamna, stands beside the rubble of his concrete home destroyed during the 22 day long Israeli offensive one year ago in the Ezbet Abed Rabbo district of the Jabaliya refugee camp in Gaza December 17,2009. Asamna now lives with his family in a mud brick home built last month by the United Nations. The multiple room mud homes can be built for around 10,000 dollars in one month, and are part of an initiative by the UN to work around the shortage of traditional building materials that have been restricted by an ongoing Israeli and Egyptian blockade while continuing to provide Palestinian families with better alternative housing.
