Al Bashrah Oil Terminal (ABOT), Arabian gulf
The offices of the Iraq South Oil Company on the Al Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT) 50 kilometers off the coast of Iraq in the Northern Arabian Gulf February 3, 2010. Iraq South oil Company exports an estimated 85-90 percent of Iraqi's total oil output through this vital terminal originally constructed in the 1970's. Currently the facility is defended by UK and US marines and Sailors as part of Combined Task Force Iraq Maritime until such time as Iraqi forces are ready to take on the job themselves.
